Owners of Communion Neighborhood Cooperative in Richardson announce details of expansion

Big changes are coming to Communion Neighborhood Cooperative this summer.

Owners Tim and Amy Kahle announced May 24 to Community Impact Newspaper that the facility, located just off Belt Line Road in Richardson, will soon grow to include a dedicated coffee bar and barber shop.

As of now, Communion offers a coworking space as well as a combined restaurant and coffee bar. By summer’s end, guests will have the option of enjoying beverages and light fare via a separate coffee bar planned for the space currently occupied by the front patio.

“We will be able to serve more guests through our full-service restaurant with wait staff [as well as a]separate coffee shop with grab-and-go options and lounge seating,” Amy Kahle said in an email.

The expansion also includes plans for a new barber shop, Saint Anita Barber & Studio, also slated to open by the end of this summer.

Amy Kahle said the facility will remain open throughout the course of construction.

“We would love lots of community support in our restaurant over the summer while we are working on our new additions,” she said. “We hope everyone comes in and enjoys their favorite food and beverage items—this helps us know what the favorites are so we can keep those on the updated menus.”
